20 Aug - Swanage 1st XI enjoyed an incredible contest at Days Park against championship chasing Wimborne. Despite an excellent effort by captain Ryan Norman (53), the home side could only muster 129 and looked to be heading for an early finish, such was the time, there were to be a further 30 mins play before the tea break could be taken. Even with such a paltry total to defend, Swanage's new style of aggressive fielding meant a shaky start for the visitors who lost 3 wickets in the pre-tea session.
After refuelling, Swanage's early momentum seemed to be lost as Wimborne steadied the ship and looked to be coasting towards a welcome victory, but once again Swange dug in with some good bowling, catching and fielding, reducing the nervous vistors to 110/9. Sadly it was not be as Swanage could not dismiss either of the final batsmen who must be commended for their play at the end of an incredible game of cricket.
20 Aug - The 2nd XI now have a sniff of surviving in their final game at home on Saturday thanks to another victory at Abbotsbury. Peter Barker's men bowled the home side out for 167 with Charlie Dyke taking 4 wickets and Tom Salmon 3.
In a close finish, Tim Ives 47, David Haines and Scott Orchard made the runs for he loss of 9 wickets
