CROQUET

If you are interested in playing croquet then why not join* a thriving group of players every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10.30am - 5pm at the cricket ground to find out more and to spend a pleasant day playing croquet. This game can be enjoyed by everyone and as several games can be played in one afternoon it is a very sociable event. In short the object of the game is to score points by making either of your balls pass through a series of hoops before your opponents. Tactically however success will depend on the accuracy of how you positon your balls when you vye for positon against your opponents to 'run a hoop'.

Although the croquet group has only been running for a couple of years its membership has now swelled to around 80 players. Indeed, such has been the impact of the group that they have provided an exhibition match as a backdrop to a wedding reception and have made many much appreciated and generous financial donations to the club to help with purchases such as a new mower.

*Please note that such is the popularity of croquet it may not always be possible to accept new members immediately.
