A packed clubhouse at Swanage Cricket Club recently hosted the annual end of season awards evening. A big thank you to all who helped make it such a great event.
Former Swanage batsman Ian Harris presented Swanage Cricket Club with a framed section of the previous clubhouse, an item he had a personal attachment to. Ian had once fallen foul to a serious case of batsman's denial when adjudged leg before wicket to a delivery heading, in his words, for first slip. Unable to contain his disappointment when returning to the Club's pavillion, Ian's bat parted company with his otherwise reliable gloved hand and found itself firmly embedded into the wall (more images to follow). The Club thanked Ian for the presentation but asked he left any heavy objects outside the clubhouse before entering in future.
