Youth News

News Update

After such a great start to the junior season recently it has been really affected by the rain with training and matches cancelled. That said we have continued growing and have now got the most junior members we have ever had. All groups are now full and we have begun a waiting list.

Despite the rain we have had some great matches and at present our U12s and U13s are leading the way with a victory each. After 3 games the Swanage Hurricanes (U13s) lie joint top whilst after a close run first game against Ferndown the Swanage Scorpions (U12s) had an amazing 1 run victory over Burley.

Sadly the U15 teams both fell to defeat in their opening games as did the U10s.

Lots of great performances across the age groups with Michael Barry and Zac Baker both retiring for the first time for the U10s whilst Jenson Chadwick took 2 wickets in 2 balls. The U12s have already had retirements from Cameron Chadwick and Jernimain Barry as well AJ Holt carried his bat for 19. Harry Spurling, AJ Holt and Seb Thomas - on his debut - all took 2 wickets in the same match.

In adult cricket their were a couple of brilliant slip catches by Sid Nash to follow Freddie Long's debut league fifty against Bere Regis. James Harding scored 36 for the 3rds against Bournemouth as the junior influence in adult cricket continues to grow
